The New Forest Breakfast

To quote Ali, I feel like I only have a limited number of Sunday mornings in my life, and I don't want to waste them with bad breakfasts!

Combine Sunday breakfast with with wild-pony-laden New Forest, and you have the heavenly New Forest Breakfast.

The New Forest Breakfast is high quality, tasty and seasonal. It has been developed with the help of local specialists and is comprised of locally derived, locally prepared ingredients that are widely and readily available. Caring animal husbandry and good farming practices underpin the New Forest Breakfast.
(No ponies will be harmed in the making of this breakfast. Although pigs are. And the ponies do get eaten other ways.)

Still OK in London

Very strange-sounding small explosions happening in London this afternoon; two weeks to the day after the last terrorist attack.

Of course all our hackles are up, but so far so good, only one injury reported.

Good luck everyone.

Gaaahh: Why men should head the Church

I'm not religious (news flash) but I like my Anglican heritage, and it means something to me to be part of that tradition. So I feel free to opine about it!

Much quoting has been done of a former "woman deacon" (gaaaHHH) who doesn't think the Anglican church should remove barriers to women becoming bishops.

Of course, the media loves her because she's willing to come out against equal opportunities for her own sex.

Fav quotes: "Just as the pattern of the Creation produced mother, father and child, so it should be echoed in the family of the Church. The father figure stands for leadership, the mother figure for nurture."

gAAAhh. Goes to show what kind of family she grew up in.

"By making a stand, I worry that my peers' desire for promotion has become more about status and prestige in the eyes of the world than it is about serving God."

Well, worry away, lady. In the meantime, get out of the way.

The dream of Chicken Little

My dream of delicious, guilt-free meat, inspired by The Space Merchants, may be coming true!

Paper Says Edible Meat Can be Grown in a Lab on Industrial Scale

And to those who say it's creepy and gross: yeah, it is. But that's flesh eatin' for ya.

Going to Italy today

I want to say thank you so much, to everyone who has called, emailed and texted to check that I am OK. I love you guys!

I am going to Italy this morning for a wedding, so I won't be on email or blog until Monday.

Things actually seem to be getting back to normal. People are celebrating getting to work, going on, and doing their normal routines. Many tubes, buses and trains are back up and running. Wow. The emergency services and transport staff should be so proud: I have never seen anything like it and I am amazed.

Everyone take care! This weekend I'll be celebrating love with my safe, sound London friends and I couldn't be happier--even though I will be crying a bit.

All well in Floraland

Don't worry about me, I am fine. I was at work early today and missed any trouble.

Peace, peace, peace everybody. I hope you are all well.

Officially the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten

Sainsbury's Be Good To Yourself Mozzarella Light

Who knew 10g of fat was all that stood between heaven and a booger?
