No ice-cream for you, Greenwich!

I spent the weekend on a non-out-of-town holiday in Greenwich. Took the river boat, went to the new planetarium at the Observatory, felt sad at the burned-up Cutty Sark, and generally larked about in my rain wear. Top tip: rubber trousers and heavy rain make for a wonderfully comfortable and un-crowded bank holiday long weekend.

As a symbol of the lighthearted nature of life in the outer reaches, here is a sign chastising the ice-cream man(!) Sadly for him, he advertises his presence wherever he goes.

Garden ready - party plans to come

The much-admired Matt James and his team of gardeners, camera guys, directors, sound guy, craft services girlette, etc have sadly left us as empty nesters.

Although we are missing the pitter-patter of steel-toed boots through our hall, we have a lovely garden to show for it.

No photos yet, and we don't yet know the air date of the show, but the whole thing's going on YouTube as soon as we get it so you can see us making complete fools of ourselves.

In the meantime, a big BBQ is in the works. As soon as it stops raining!

Bike Parcour

This street trials bike riding reminds me of parcour -- and blows my mind.
